What You Need to Know

A criminal accusation can bring many problems into the lives of youth and their families, even where there has been no conviction. Most people do not realize how much any involvement with the criminal justice system can affect other areas of their lives. Youth who have been involved in the criminal justice system typically face problems in the areas of education, employment, and housing. Some of those problems are discussed here.

In many of these situations, it is helpful to have an attorney who is familiar with the issues advocating for you. Youth Represent addresses the impact of involvement with the criminal justice system by helping youth with all of the problems that they may face as they make their journey from courtroom to community. In addition to providing criminal defense representation for youth, we also provide help to youth who are having problems with education, employing, or housing because of an arrest or conviction.

Over 14,000 youth aged 16-24 were convicted of misdemeanors last year; in New York, misdemeanor convictions are never sealed.
